V.J. Day (Victory In Japan Day)

This photograph was taken on V.J. Day, it shows a sailor kissing a nurse in New Yorks, Time Square. I would have to say that this in fact is a good photo. The central part of the image is centered and will keep your eye glued and interested for a while. The balance between the dark uniform and the white of the nurses outfit is what makes the photograph. Without that, it would not be the same. Also the figure on the left side of the picture is just far enough away to be interfere with the focal point. That also goes for the figure on the right who is cut off. If his any part of his face was showing this may completely ruin it.

Las Meninas

This photograph is not only a play on the original painting by Diego Velazquez but the remake by Pablo Picasso. It contains elements from both paintings which prove this. The Picasso-esque sculpture on the right side of the picture is how it relates to him. The items that are contained in the picture make it seem more of an illusion and reminds me of a "circus-act". Each figure seems to have a unique quality about them as if they were part of a freak show. He takes a painting that contained normal people and exchanged them for people who in fact are not. Each have a quality or trait about them, making the stand out from normal society. The metal cage that the girl is sitting on represents the dress in the original painting but since she has no legs, that is how the photographer interpreted it. The Jesus-like figure in the background also replaced the original person. The "sleeping" dog is a replacement for the dog that was sitting properly in the orignal painting.

Walking on Eggshells

In this photograph there is quite an odd "bathroom" scene taking place. There are two naked women whom seem very similar from the back, but are in fact not the same person. They seem to be both getting ready to take a bath, explaining their nudity. Located in the picture are ten golden snakes, all with blue eyes. Also there are three tan colored rabbits, whom are all interacting with a snake. Lining all the space on the walls are a variety of Egyptian  hieroglyphics also who have a tan tint to them. Covering every square inch of the floor are intact eggs. Cause of this, there is a trail of footsteps where the two women have walked across them.  Everything besides the snakes has a tan color to itself.
